ASBESTOS AND MOULD

At Allen’s Property Inspections, we can help identify if you have asbestos present in your home.
Removing Asbestos Roofing

To be realistic, if your home was built between 1940 – 1980 there’s a very high possibility your home is going to have asbestos present.

Whilst asbestos is not dangerous if it is unbroken & sealed (i.e. painted) renovations etc can disturb this nasty product so best be forewarned.

Super important to get this identification right, the same goes for mould which can also present itself in some dangerous forms.

Below are four common forms of Asbestos:
Chrysotile (white asbestos) is the most commonly used form of asbestos. It can be found today in the roofs, ceilings, walls and floors of homes and businesses.

Amosite (brown asbestos) was used most frequently in cement sheets and pipe insulation. It can also be found in insulating board, ceiling tiles and thermal insulation products.

Crocidolite (blue asbestos) was commonly used to insulate steam engines. It was also used in some spray-on coatings, pipe insulation, plastics and cement products.

Anthophyllite was used in limited quantities for insulation products and construction materials. It also occurs as a contaminant in chrysotile asbestos, vermiculite and talc. It may have a grey, dull green or white colour.

Above are just a few photographs of issues we have identified where asbestos can be found.
